The “do-gooders” of the world have created a Fear Culture, teaching and advocating that ANY object, device, or thing that could possibly cause harm should be avoided and outlawed. This protectionist agenda serves to lessen public safety, NOT increase it. Moreover it has created millions of “sheeple” who claim NO personal responsibility, who have no self-reliance, and who completely lack the skill sets to operate and master “dangerous things.”

CeaseFire, extracting admission that the 2nd Amendment protects an individual right, contraverting their long held position that gun onwership is reserved only for those serving in the Militia – seemingly the Armed Forces or law enforcement. Trust us, folks, they were wrong then, and they’re wrong now. Everything they say is a lie and the bit about “gun violence” is intellectually and morally bankrupt.

- Ebola strikes NYC: Doctor t… by Glenn At New…
New York has its first case of Ebola.
A Harlem doctor who recently treated patients in Africa, tested positive for the deadly disease after he was rushed to Bellevue Hospital with symptoms, including a 103-degree fever, sources told The Post.
Craig Spencer, a 33-year-old Doctors Without Borders volunteer, began showing symptoms one night after he was out bowling in Brooklyn, police sources said.
Spencer and his live-in girlfriend, Morgan Dixon, 30, were both quarantined at Bellevue at noon Thursday as cops retraced their steps since the doctor returned from Guinea on Oct. 17, the sources said.
Spencer had spent Wednesday night bowling in Williamsburg. He used an Uber car service to get to and from the Brooklyn neighborhood.
Hipster bowling hot spot The Gutter was closed last night due to “unforseen circumstances.”
- NYPD Hatchet Attacker May H… by Glenn At New…
The hatchet-wielding man who attacked four New York Police Department officers earlier today and was then shot dead by police may have had ties to ISIS, sources tell Vocativ.
Law enforcement sources we spoke with identified Zale Thompson as the armed man who charged at a group of NYPD uniformed police assembled on a street corner in Jamaica, Queens, at around 2 p.m. today. The 32-year-old Muslim, who lived in Queens, struck one of the officers in the back of the head with his hatchet and gashed another on the arm, the police said.
- Grandfather is Shot, but Sh… by Glenn At New…
Unfortunately, in this case our hero was shot multiple times and had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital where is in serious condition. However, his actions are nothing short of amazingly heroic.
A man who said he was having trouble with his car convinced Kenneth Byrd, age 67, to open his door. His wife and 19 year old granddaughter were at home at the time.
That was all the opportunity the three man home invasion crew needed. The trio burst into the home, guns drawn and threatened the residents.
- Good Guy with a Gun Ended T… by Glenn At New…
On October 22, recent Islamic convert Michael Zehif-Bibeau shot and killed a Canadian Forces reservist, then went into Parliament Hill with rifle in hand, but the carnage that could have followed was prevented when a good guy with a gun–Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Vickers–shot and killed the attacker.
According to the Toronto Sun, Zehif-Bibeau was “just outside the Parliamentary library” and therefore close to reaching the MPs when Vickers stopped the attack. Reuters reports that the attacker was a mere 60 feet away from the MPs when Vickers intervened.
Vickers’ role as Sergeant-at-Arms is largely ceremonial. However, he is a 29-year veteran of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, according to the National Post, and his training and experience appear to have come into play exactly when they were needed.
The Sydney Morning Herald quotes Canadian Veterans Affairs Minister Julian Fantino as saying: “[Vickers] did a great job and, from what I know, shot the gunman.”
- The U.S. vs U.K. Wimpiness … by Glenn At New…
It’s time for an updated version of the U.S. vs U.K. government stupidity contest.
This ongoing series has featured amazing feats of inane government, including the world’s most pointless road markings, photo-ID requirements for drain cleaner purchases, and a government so incompetent that it couldn’t give money away.
Today’s contest, though, is going to focus on examples of wimpiness from both sides of the Atlantic.
- New Low: Rosie O’Donn… by Glenn At New…
Liberal View co-host (and 9/11 truther) Rosie O’Donnell wasted no time on Thursday in taking the shooting in Canada and spinning it into a plea for gun control in America. The comedienne cited a comment from model Chrissy Teigen. On Wednesday, Teigen tweeted, “Active shooting in Canada or as we call it in America, Wednesday.” O’Donnell raved, “I thought it was brilliant.” [MP3 audio here.]
The co-host compared, “But 86 people are killed a day are killed in America with guns. And you know what, that is terrorism here.” O’Donnell has a long history of aggressively pushing gun control, going back to a 1999 attack on Tom Selleck. In 2006, she flatly declared that the Second Amendment is “not really a right.”
- Gays at Gawker: It’s Cool t… by Glenn At New…
As I’ve noted elsewhere, the most amusing aspect of the whole #GamerGate phenomenon (background here and here and here) has been the angry progressive media types confusedly looking around trying to figure out how we got to a point where they would be targeted for boycotts and the like for casual comments they have made. As Varad Mehta noted,
Crazy, right? They don’t quite understand the world they’ve created. They think it’s the worst thing in the whole world for Internet Tough Guys to make death and rape threats* and also that it’s cool to joke about Bristol Palin actually being physically assaulted by a man. Because stoopid Rethuglicans, you know? Most amusingly, they don’t even seem to understand the contradiction. So they get really butthurt when someone else whips up an Internet rage mob against them. “Don’t you understand?” they seem to be crying. “We’re the good guys here! We only take on bad people! Those Other people. That aren’t good. Like us!”
- Judicial Watch Obtains List… by Glenn At New…
Late last night the Department of Justice complied with a court order and turned over a list to government watchdog Judicial Watch , known as a Vaughn Index, of Fast and Furious documents being held from Congress and the American people under President Obama’s assertion of executive privilege. Not surprisingly, DOJ failed to fully comply with the requirements of providing a Vaughn Index.
The Vaughn index explains 15,662 documents. Typically, a Vaughn index must: (1) identify each record withheld; (2) state the statutory exemption claimed; and (3) explain how disclosure would damage the interests protected by the claimed exemption. The Vaughn index arguably fails to provide all of this required information but does provide plenty of interesting information for a public kept in the dark for years about the Fast and Furious scandal.
Regardless, the list of documents shows Obama asserted executive privilege to protect Attorney General Eric Holder’s wife and to protect information showing Holder helped to craft talking points during the fallout of the scandal.
- The “Moderate Gun Con… by Glenn At New…
Over the years, gun rights advocates have seen a number of attempts to push “gun control” (more accurately described as “forcible citizen disarmament”) by stealth. Advocates of more restrictive gun regulation formed new groups, ostensibly more “moderate” than the well-known “gun control” groups, such as the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence (itself once called “Handgun Control, Inc., which used to publicly advocate a total handgun ban).
In the year 2000, dot-com billionaire Andrew McKelvey founded the “Americans for Gun Safety Foundation,” which describes itself this way:
Americans for Gun Safety (AGS) is a centrist, non-partisan, national education and advocacy group dedicated to the advancement of gun safety. AGS recognizes and supports the rights of law-abiding Americans to own and use guns. We also believe that with all rights come responsibilities and we urge shared responsibility for the safe use, storage and distribution of guns by all parties – manufacturers, dealers, owners, law enforcement, and members of society in general. AGS is beginning a new national dialogue, shifting the gun debate from one of rights versus responsibilities to one of rights and responsibilities.
By now, AGS has been “folded” into the “Third Way” movement, which purports to hope to end the “right wing” vs. “left wing” gridlock–mostly by ceding as much as possible to the left, and calling it a “compromise.”
- SAF Sues Illinois Over Rest… by Glenn At New…
The Second Amendment Foundation today filed a lawsuit in federal district court in Illinois, challenging that state’s concealed carry statute that restricts otherwise qualified non-residents the rights and privileges of carrying concealed firearms based solely on their state of residence.
Joining SAF in this legal action are the Illinois State Rifle Association, Illinois Carry, Inc., and ten individual plaintiffs, all residing in other states and who are licensed to carry in those states. Under the restrictive Illinois statute, only residents from states with “substantially similar” requirements to obtain a carry license are allowed to apply for non-resident licenses.
Only four states currently qualify under that provision. They are Hawaii, New Mexico, South Carolina and Virginia. None of the individual plaintiffs reside in those states.
According to SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb, this situation is not simply unfair, it is untenable and we believe unconstitutional.
“Our plaintiffs have qualified for carry permits or licenses in their own states,” Gottlieb said, “which means they have gone through background checks and other requirements that show they are responsible, law-abiding citizens. Yet, because of the current Illinois statute, their self-defense rights are suspended immediately after they cross the Illinois state line.”
Named as defendants in the lawsuit are Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Illinois State Police Director Hiram Grau and Jessica Trame, bureau chief of the State Police Firearms Service Bureau. Plaintiffs are represented by attorney David Sigale of Glen Ellyn, Ill.
“This lawsuit,” said Sigale, “is brought because it is unfair that otherwise qualified people from states outside Illinois, who work and travel in Illinois are barred from obtaining means to defend themselves in public solely based on their state of residence. We expect to correct that.”
“We’re asking the federal court for a declaratory judgment on equal protection and due process constitutional grounds,” Gottlieb stated. “It makes no sense at all for Illinois to enforce such a narrowly-defined law that seems to recognize the rights of some non-residents, while dismissing the rights of most other non-residents. We can’t allow that kind of discriminatory situation to stand.”
